IN VIEW of Dorset Highway’s already substantial overspend on its highways programme, I, as a local resident, query why they consider it necessary to resurface the perfectly satisfactory stretch of road between Hilton and Pond Head. Along with probably many of your readers I can think of several other roads in the area far more in need of attention.
As a retired civil engineering surveyor I also query the cost effectiveness of the patching machine, a subject of much ridicule to those who have seen it in operation, and its accompanying resources .
After all it may only be for “ temporary” reinstatement but surely it should last longer than the next few passing cars.
