WE READ a lot in your newspaper about dogs fouling the open spaces.

As a regular dog walker I agree that all mess should be picked up and I always carry the appropriate bags.

However, this is not always possible, especially in Asker Meadows, due to the length of the grass in certain parts of the fields.

I thought that the quality of the grass was improved by cutting, but obviously this is not shared by the people in high places.

A new “meadow” was planted last year with attendant notices on the gates and it is now knee-deep in grass interspaced with thistles and clover!

Please either cut the grass or, if not, let the cows in as they do a good job.
