REF: Terry Putnam’s letter – August 18 re: The new parking ticket machines.

The first one I used was at Top o’ Town car park when I visited the County Hospital in the dark when it was raining. I too had to go back to my car for my specs. I had no preconceived ideas about the keyboard and had no problems with it. Many people do not have a computer. However, the third time I used one of the machines it printed somebody else’s registration number on my ticket; now that bears some thinking about. Looking on the bright side we’re all likely to get it right the next time. Incidentally, I think one can be fined for handing a part-used parking ticket to somebody else.
