ON SUNDAY I had my first walk on Weymouth beach with my dog following the summer ban.
I am absolutely shocked to see the state the beach has been left in.
Strewn all over are broken glass bottles, plastic bottles, drinks cans, food cartons, sweet papers, pieces of clothing, shoes, etc.
The dog owners who were happily enjoying the day were subject to this with an obvious concern for their dogs and their own safety. Dog owners, bar one or two lowlifes, have a great respect for the seaside/countryside code, so for us it is heartbreaking to witness this mindless behaviour.
Perhaps we should ban all non-dog owners from the beach – or is it unfair and absolutely ridiculous to be tarring everyone with the same brush?
