I READ, with interest, Tony Manson’s letter "Means testing OAPs" (Echo: October 31) regarding the notion that all citizens over 65 years of age should be means tested to evaluate their entitlement to any age-related benefits.
As he alluded to the fact the he is over 65, his letter would have achieved a tad more gravitas and, perhaps, a genuine fillip had he remarked, in conclusion, that the government benefits paid to him are given to a deserving charity.
The Home for the Confused and Bewildered would be a good start.
Perhaps he already makes such donation – if so, then good on you.
