COME on Weymouth, before the minority take away what is a part of your history forever, let’s think of the options.
To uplift the tram lines would not only be seen as an act of vandalism but also it would take away what is visually a part of your past, a part that we all enjoy on our walks around your lovely old harbourside.
If it is to appease the cycle brigade who seem to want to take over our roads why not leave the lines in situ – to uplift them would cost us all a fortune – and infill with a bituminous compound, of which there are some excellent commercial-grade products available.
The visual effect would still be there for our eyes to enjoy, history would be preserved and the cyclists would be satisfied.
Please leave our lines intact!
