HERE in west Dorset we are all encouraged to re-cycle as much as we can, and quite right to, we have the large bins for paper, plastic, and tins and the box for glass, and of course the little plastic bag for batteries.
So can anyone please explain to me why when you put your batteries out a member of the re-cycle team opens the bag and throws the batteries into the large bin with the papers, plastic and tines.
I have seen this happen myself with the last two re-cycle collections. Does this mean batteries are no longer recyclable?
If this is so can we just throw used batteries into the large bin, or even into the household waste bin.
I would love to have an explanation from someone.
