MR TEMPEST may or may not be right about the incidence of lying during last year’s referendum but to support his argument he is not above dubious statements, himself; namely that the referendum was ‘advisory’.
Oh, I know he maintains that there is a forgotten piece of parliamentary paper that says it was, but on the ground it was definitely mandatory and proponents of both sides before and since have told us so ad nauseum.
His second issue is that the majority was ‘wafer thin’, I can’t remember the actual figures but the majority for leaving was at least four million, not exactly ‘thin’! In any case in our democratic system, like it or lump it, any majority however small wins as was demonstrated in the election.
That being so please can Mr Tempest and the other remainers give us some peace, accept the referendum result and get behind the rest of the country lobbying to achieve the best future we can?
