SOME time ago it was suggested to Richard Drax MP that a substantial financial contribution towards the costs of the rescue helicopter could be made by the private boat owners parked within radius.
Private boat owners pay annual fees to the councils or private boat yards and must provide a copy of their insurance certificate.
It was suggested that it would be easy to add a fee/donation for the helicopter based on a percentage of the insurance value of each boat. He replied that Whitehall administrators thought it too difficult to administer. Really?
