The A&E department at Dorset County Hospital has seen an increase in cold and ice related illnesses and injuries with an increase in limb fractures and head injuries in particular.
A spokesperson for the DCH NHS Foundation Trust said: "We have not generally had significant problems with staff being able to get to work and would like to acknowledge staff commitment to attend for work and ensure a good level of care is available for patients and the community.
“We would remind people that, in light of the continuing difficult weather conditions, to be aware of the potential for injury and to do everything possible to keep warm and safe.”
