THE Terras chalked up their fourth win on the spin at Days Park thanks to a double from Sanchez Baker.

It was another very accomplished performance from Weymouth as they marched into the last eight of the Dorset Premier League Cup with their third goal coming from substitute Sean Zima.

Swanage Town & Herston also had a man sent off in the tie and were extremely fortunate not to concede more as Liam Greatrex, Charlie Holland, Luke Win-sper and Tom Bell all went extremely close.

Joint-boss Jake Richmond, who included six teenagers in his starting XI, told Echosport: “We dug in again, competed really well, and kept a good shape throughout, so it was really pleasing.

“Chris Povall only had two saves to make, one with his feet and one down to his right, but apart from that Swanage never really troubled us.

“They also had a man sent off for punching Ben Doidge just before half-time but we were already 1-0 up at that point any way and in control.

“We could have gone on to hit six or seven in the second half with the opportunities we had but to be honest I was more concerned about the clean sheet. That is now three in a row we have kept and at the moment I could not be happier with the way things are going.

“In the last four or five games we have really got some continuity going with Ben and Adam Anstey at the back, and Liam Greatrex and Luke Winsper in the centre of midfield, and that has no doubt helped breed confidence.

“I am also delighted with how Tom Bell has slotted in. He really leads from the front with his work-rate and being a teacher he knows how to talk to the youngsters too.

“He was my man of the match this week and I think his former club perhaps under-rated him.”

Winsper and Holland sent efforts over the bar early on before Sanchez Baker grabbed the opener on 16 minutes following a fine flick-on from Bell.

The Swans appeared to have no answer to Weymouth’s dominance and after Winsper had clipped the bar and Bell had been denied by a fine save, one of the home players lashed out at Doidge and deservedly received his marching orders.

That left the hosts with a mountain to climb and in the second half the Terras took full advantage.

Sanchez Baker doubled the lead on 53 minutes after more good work from Bell before substitute Zima came on and killed the game by tapping in Ashley Wells’ cross with 25 minutes remaining.

Bell also sent an effort against the bar and Greatrex had one cleared off the line as the visitors revelled in the space afford to them.

Richmond added: “Ashley had 75 minutes and once again showed his first-team class and I also thought Luke was excellent in the midfield, particularly in the second half when he really dictated the play.

“It was just another great all-round performance and hopefully we can keep it going.”
