DORCHESTER Town's Blue Square Bet South match at home to Farnborough this afternoon has been postponed.

As expected the heavy overnight rain took its toll on the pitch at The Avenue with the fixture to be rearranged for a date in the new year.

The Magpies' next match is scheduled for Truro City on Boxing Day though Cornwall has also been badly hit by rain in the last 24 hours.

The rain has caused many postponements across Dorset with Bridport's Toolstation Western Premier encounter with Barnstaple also being called off.

The Dorset Premier League programme has been decimated with all games off including Weymouth Reserves' trip to Swanage Town & Herston and the derby clash between Portland Utd and Chickerell Utd.
