MARK Selby enjoyed the perfect warm-up to The Masters by claiming the Munich Open title at the weekend.

The world number one, who is set to hold an exhibition evening at Snookes in Weymouth on Saturday, February 9, won the PTC event in Germany by defeating Graeme Dott 4-3 in a closely-contested final.

The triumph comes off the back of his success at the UK Champ-ionships back in December in which he returned to the top of the game on his way to claiming the crown with a 10-6 triumph over Shaun Murphy.

Selby is now set to be one of the hot favourites for The Masters which is due to get underway at Alexandra Palace in London on Sunday.

The 29-year-old has already won the title on two previous occasions in 2008 and 2010, and on current form he is expected to challenge once again.

Tickets are available for the exhibition evening at Snookes. They cost £20 each and can be bought from the club or by postal request to Snookes, 9-10 Caroline Place, Weymouth, DT4 8NW. The club can also be contacted on 788593.

Event organiser Mark Cotting-ham said: “Mark is coming right back into form now so it should make for a very good evening.”
