THE three parties involved in the proposed handover of Dorchester Town FC to the club’s community trust are set to meet to discuss the next major stage in the process.

The financial procedure of due diligence is still to be completed by the trust but secretary Dave Ring says the statement of intent document will be the topic of conversation at a meeting next week.

The agreement will need to be signed by representatives of the trust, the football club and Dorch-ester Town Youth FC before the handover can take place.

“We’re waiting for all three parties to sign a statement of intent and we are working on the final points of that document,” said Ring.

“When that is signed then hopefully we can push through with it all.

“Due diligence is still on-going. There is still information that our treasurer needs to get but I believe he has got most of the information he requires.

“There are just a few small points he needs to clear up.

“There will be a meeting next week to discuss the next steps in the process."

He added: “The statement of intent is an agreement that everyone agrees to.

“Obviously each organisation has got ideas about what it will look like.

“At the end of the day, everyone is going to have to come to some common agreement.

“When we come to that we can really push forward.”
