DORCHESTER Town are now within six points of the Blue Square Bet South play-off places after recording a fourth win in five games on Saturday.

Goals from Charlie Clough and Ben Watson, in for the injured Kieffer Moore, secured a 2-0 triumph at Tonbridge Angels in Kent to move up to eighth in the table.

The impressive performance, however, was tempered by a red card for Clough in second-half injury-time following a mass brawl.

The hosts’ Gary Elphick was also sent off for his part in the fisticuffs as both sides ended the match with 10 men – Clough and Elphick are now likely to face three-game bans.

Dorchester manager Phil Simkin, whose side host Billericay Town tomorrow night (7.45pm), was delighted with his team’s performance but slammed the “inept” officials.

“It was almost the perfect away performance quite frankly,” said Simkin. “But it was an inept performance from the officials.”
