DORCHESTER Middle School has been celebrating a hat-trick of sporting triumphs with success in swimming, football and netball.

The Year Five and Six swimming team got the ball rolling when they were crowned champions at the West Dorset Schools Primary School competition.

Then the county town school’s footballers followed this up by becoming joint winners of the Year Six Nash Cup.

Putting the icing on the cake was the Year Seven netball team, who not only became South Dorset League champions but also lifted the South West Dorset Cup.

The girls won their first piece of silverware with a 12-5 defeat of Budmouth in the final after winning their area league.

Lightning struck twice as the youngsters then beat Budmouth again in the cup final to seal a prestigious double.

“It has been an absolute pleasure taking these girls all the way to the final,” said the school’s head of PE Matt Roberts.

“They work incredibly hard together and I’m not sure that I’ve ever seen such a strong work ethic during matches and practice.

“I am amazed that they have gone through the whole year without being beaten.”
