WEYMOUTH COUGARS 14 BLANDFORD UNITED FLYERS 0
MOST players would be happy scoring nine goals over the course of one season but not Nial Turner of the Cougars, who managed three hat-tricks in a single game.
The Cougars started well with Harry Falcus finding Loui Govier only for his header to hit the bar before Ed Spearing converted a Josh Williams free-kick.
Jake Hawker worked hard in midfield and his through ball found Falcus who netted to make it 2-0.
Blandford responded but the Cougars’ defensive set-up of William Walden, Max Hooper-Greenhill and Toby Brown held firm.
Brown then threaded a ball to Turner and he made no mis- take to score his first of the afternoon, quickly followed by a second with Falcus the provider this time.
Although it was nearly all the Cougars, home keeper Loui Wilkinson was brought into action and a solid clearance denied Blandford.
Pressing again, Williams was upended just outside the area and Falcus struck the woodwork with the free kick.
From a Blandford corner the Cougars made it 5-0 when Hawker ran through the opposition midfield before finding Turner who completed his hat-trick.
Turner seized on a couple of loose clearances and added another two goals, which really rocked the Blandford defence.
Walden and Brown again linked up and after the ball was moved from Hooper-Greenhill to Haw-ker it was Cleaver next on the scoresheet.
Hawker followed suit then Williams slotted a penalty and from then on it was all Turner as he bagged three more to seal a huge win for the Cougars.
