BRENDON King reckons the Terras may need to adopt a slightly different approach at the Bob Lucas Stadium this season.

His comments came following Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Cambridge City who managed to frustrate the home side for much of the afternoon.

Josh Beech put the Lilywhites into an early lead and had it not been for an own goal and a couple of superb saves from Jason Matthews (pictured above), they would have gone away with a victory.

Weymouth also had their chances though and afterwards King was happy to take a point.

The upbeat boss told Echosport: “It was a bit of a strange game in many ways.

“I thought we controlled it for long periods but to be fair to Cambridge they put on a classic away performance and made life difficult for us.

“Not only did they get men behind the ball and stay well organised, but they also carried a threat on the break and had it not been for Jason, we would have probably lost.

“Having said that though, we also had a few opportunities and had the ball fell our way a bit more in the box we could have scored a couple more as well.

“We are going to have to get used to teams coming here trying to frustrate us and it may well lead to us taking a slightly different approach. However, on this occasion we still did enough to get a point and the fact we didn’t lose the game was the most important thing.”

Commenting further on his keeper’s performance, King went on to add: “Jason was fantastic and I thought the save he made before half-time with his foot was particularly important.

“He also made a couple in the second half and in many ways kept us in it.

“I also thought Luke Burbidge was a constant threat and that Luke Winsper did well when he came off the bench for Danny Clay, whose knee was not 100 per cent.”

Despite still being unbeaten in the Calor Southern Premier Division, the Terras have now dropped to fourth, two points adrift of table-toppers Poole Town. Their next game sees them travel to Bideford tomorrow night (7.45pm).

*The Terras have postponed the EGM scheduled for this coming Friday. A new date will be announced soon.
