LEWIS Knox and George Hawkins were the big winners in the Junior Club Championships at Weymouth Golf Club.
A dozen of the club’s top youngsters took part in the event and despite the blustery conditions there was some excellent scoring.
Luke Maddison and Knox both shot 77 in the scratch competition to share the lead at the end of the morning rounds, while Sam Trott was the early pacesetter in the handicap event with an 87, nett 70.
However, the best scores came in the afternoon with Knox shooting a 76 to take the overall gross title and Hawkins producing a superb round of 79, nett 67 to take the nett crown.
In other news, fellow junior members Shannon Parfitt and Connor Aitken have both reached the Skills National Final, which will be held at the National Golf Centre at Woodhall Spa on September 28.
