GOALKEEPER Ryan Park is set to make his debut for Weymouth Reserves tomorrow when Jake Richmond’s men take on Hamworthy United Reserves at the Bob Lucas Stadium (2pm).

Park has been brought in from Hamworthy Recreation to provide competition for the number one jersey and to add some experience to the squad.

But while Park comes in and Aston Butcher returns from suspension, Sam Frost, Lloyd Beals and Carl McClements are all unavailable.

McClements scored four times when the Terras thrashed tomorrow’s opponents 5-0 just last month.

Both teams are likely to look a lot different this time round with the hosts eager to get back in action following the postponement of last Saturday’s game at Merley Cobham Sports.

Speaking to Echosport about his new acquisition in goal, Richmond said: “Ryan was recommended to me by our club’s goalkeeping coach last season.

“I watched him then and this season, and I’m always looking for competition for places and that is what he will give us.

“He’s a slightly older head at 24 or 25 and that experience is what you need around a young squad.

“Ryan is a quality player and someone I feel can make the squad a better one.”

Last Saturday’s wet weather put paid to the Dorset Senior Trophy tie between Poole Borough Reser-ves and Bridport Reserves.

The two sides will be hoping the elements are in their favour tomorrow when they try to make it through to the third round.

Matt Guilbert returns from suspension as Chickerell United go again against Gillingham Town Reserves in the trophy.

Guilbert missed the goal-fest at the Stalls last Saturday when the sides drew 5-5 after extra-time – the Chickens had led 4-1 at one stage.

The winner of the second round replay will travel to either Corfe Mullen or Sturminster Newton in round three.

Upwey & Broadwey’s home tie against Verwood Town Reserves failed to get started because of a waterlogged pitch first time around so they will try again at Redlands tomorrow.

Victory for Upwey would see them entertain Bere Regis or South Cheriton in the third round. All trophy matches kick-off at 1.30pm.

Both Portland United and Portland United Reserves are without games in the Dorset Premier League and Senior League this weekend.
