DORCHESTER Town boss Phil Simkin has received a triple boost in time for tomorrow’s FA Trophy tie at Gosport Borough (3pm).

Not only are Jamie Gleeson and Josh Wakefield back from illness and injury respectively, but Neil Martin is in line to feature despite speculation linking him with a move to Weymouth.

And with £4,000 on offer to the winners of the third qualifying round clash, Simkin needs all his experienced heads playing if the Magpies want to progress.

“Glees has got over the bug that made him miss the Bath game and Josh has recovered from the dead leg that kept him out,” said Simkin.

“Both of them are very important for us.Glees would get in any side in our league and Josh has improved beyond all recognition in his time with us.”

Unfortunately, young striker Dan Munday is out having cracked a bone in his hand but Simkin is standing by Tony Rolls after the defender had a tough time of it in the 2-0 home defeat by Bath last time out.

“Two individual errors cost us two goals in the first 10 minutes,” added the manager. “Tony knows he made a few mistakes but he will have learnt from it.

“We’re throwing youngsters in because of our situation and sometimes they have to learn the hard way.

“This level of football sorts the men out from the boys and we have to help them get through it.

“It’s not a normal situation where we can bring players up through the ranks and develop them, they have to find their feet very quickly.

“It was so disappointing conceding two goals early on last weekend because if you take those goals out of it I think we did pretty well.

“Hopefully we can defend a little better at Gosport and get a foothold in the game and build from there.

“Brandon Goodship is on fire at the moment and, when he gets the ball, it always feels like something is going to happen.”

Dorchester have already met Borough this season in the league when a Steve Walker goal earned the Magpies a 1-1 draw.

The two sides prop up the Skrill South table with Gosport two points better off than the county town club.
