FORMER Dorchester Town star Matty Holmes, the lead foundation coach at AFC Bournemouth, will be attending a trial session for under-6 to under-10 age groups in Dorchester on Saturday, June 28.
Holmes, pictured, will attend the session from 10am to 1pm to cast his eye over future academy talent in the west of Dorset.
“Dorchester and Weymouth areas have provided players in many of our academy age groups over the past few years and we have some good contact in those areas," he told the AFC Bournemouth website.
“It is an area of Dorset where we believe there is some real talent and my visit is to see if we can spot some players, and also put a training session on for the players that want to attend.”
Regional coach Andy Peart, who will be organising the session on the day, currently runs an AFC Bournemouth skills centre on Saturday mornings in Dorchester, which has recommended players to the academy and development centres.
The event will be held at the Great Field in Poundbury, and will start at 10am.
