ENGLAND’S World Cup campaign has started with a 2-1 defeat to Italy in Manaus, with Mario Balotelli grabbing the winning goal in the Group D clash.
Claudio Marchisio gave the Italians the lead in the 35th minute but Daniel Sturridge equalised from Wayne Rooney’s cross soon after.
However, former Manchester City striker Balotelli got what proved to be the winner five minutes after the break, heading in a cross from the right.
