STURMINSTER Newton’s William Fox-Pitt will ride Chilli Morning at this year’s Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, it has been confirmed.
British Eventing selectors have named Fox-Pitt in a six-strong squad for the championships, which take place in Normandy from August 23 to September 7.
The 45-year-old, who is set to compete at his fourth World Equestrian Games, is joined in the team by Tina Cook, Pippa Funnell, Zara Phillips, Izzy Taylor and Oliver Townend.
“I am thrilled,” said Fox-Pitt. “It is always an honour to be able to secure a place on the team and this year we look very strong. I hope we have a good result and get a qualifying result for Rio.
“These games are always so special and it’s a privilege to get the chance to represent my country.”
