BALTI HOUSE 8 WITCHAMPTON UNITED 1

BALTI House served up another mouth-watering performance to hit eight past Witchampton United, with striker Grant Chance finding the net four times in total.

The result sees Marco Nott’s men sit top of the table after three games, with maximum points and 13 goals already chalked up this term.

The home team dominated from the first whistle throughout the Dorset Senior League clash and set the ball rolling in the 10th minute.

Ethan Devaney produced a neat through ball for Chance to run in on goal, and the centre forward made no mistake despatching the ball into the corner of the net.

With Balti well in control, it came as no surprise when Chance popped up once again in the right place to add a second just after half an hour.

Soon after the half-time, Chance completed his hat-trick when he hit a free-kick home from 25 yards and the grabbed his fourth on the hour with another clinical finish.

Shane Lock then entered the fray to replace Chance and was soon in on the action, with his first touch hitting the back of the Witches’ net. Phil Anderson then added a sixth.

A lapse in concentration allowed Witchampton to pull one back, but with 10 minutes remaining, a passing move involving a number of players saw Lock apply the finishing touch.

In the dying minutes Josh Houghton put further gloss on the result when he nodded into the net from a corner to complete the 8-1 rout.

Manager Nott said: “I was delighted with the effort and commitment shown by the players. To record three wins is tremendous, but it’s still early days and we have to keep our feet on the ground.”
