BERE Regis and Cattistock top the pile in Division One of the Dorchester & District Evening League, both with two wins in as many games.

Bere Regis sealed an eight-wicket triumph over Dewlish with Dean Rogerson plundering an unbeaten 43 to force the result.

Rogerson was then at it again for his men as he yet again refused to surrender his wicket, joint top scoring with 27 in a seven-wicket triumph over Charlton Down. He also went on to claim figures of 3-9 with the ball.

Elsewhere in Division One, reigning champions St George’s suffered defeat for the first time in league action this season as they were thwarted by Cattistock, falling 13 runs short of their target.

B Wallbridge totalled 53 with the bat for victors Cattistock, while Rich Cole was the pick of the Saints’ bowlers, returning 2-25.

Dewlish also recorded a victory over Martinstown in the top flight, with Dan Belt’s dazzling six wickets helping them on their way to success.

He dismissed Martinstown top scorer Stuart Fry for 46 as they were bowled out for 86 and Dewlish chased the total down with four wickets to spare.

In Division Two, Dorchester Casuals made it three wins out of three to top the pile with six points after their total of 74-7 was enough to see off Hazelbury Bryan, who were skittled out for just 52 in reply.

David Trotter was the star performer in the game as he snared five wickets for a meagre 10 runs in total.

Hazlebury Bryan also fell to an eight-wicket loss to Cerne Valley earlier in the week.

A fine knock of 84 by Puddletown’s Tim Orford helped his side to a convincing 77-run win over bottom side Frampton.

Puddletown racked up a strong score of 157-4 which proved too much for Frampton to chase down, they finished their innings on 80-8.

Meanwhile, in Division Three, Puddletown Reserves kept up their faultless record with a relatively straightforward triumph over Winfrith.

The reserves totalled 126-7 and then dismissed their opposition for 92 to seal a 34-run victory.

They sit two points clear of second placed Charlton Down Seconds, who slipped to their first league loss of the year against Cattistock Seconds, despite R Frapwell’s unbeaten 55.

Elsewhere, third-placed Plush confidently saw off Puddletown RFC to record their second win in three league outings, Graeme Stephens made 45 with the bat for the victors.
