WEYMOUTH Reserves could move to within three points of Dorset Premier League leaders Merley Cobham Sports tomorrow.

Bradley Asagba’s Terras, fresh from a 4-0 defeat of in-form Swanage Town & Herston, go to Mere (2pm).

Mere’s last league loss came against Weymouth on December 19, since then they have drawn with Hamworthy United Reserves and beaten Parley and South Cheriton.

But while Mere have moved into 11th place in the standings, the Terras are on a four-game winning streak and lie third.

However, if Weymouth want to take advantage of Merley’s involvement in the League Cup they will have to do it without suspended duo Sanchez Jansz-Baker and Ollie Clayton.

The pair are serving three and one-match bans respectively after being sent off in the win at Hamworthy United Reserves.

“This year is about being more consistent, taking on board what we are doing in training, and then implementing those things,” said Asagba.

“We beat Mere 3-2 just before Christmas but it’s going to be really tough, especially away from home at their place.”

Balti Sports are only one point worse off than Weymouth and they will be desperate to make up for last weekend’s 7-1 reverse at Shaftesbury when they visit Swanage (2pm).

“Swanage away will be a bit of a battle,” said Balti chief Marco Nott. “It was a surprise that Weymouth beat them so comfortably.”

Bridport Reserves will be praying the bad weather stays away for their home clash with Hamworthy United Reserves (3pm).
