HOLLY Neill has been selected for the Paralympic Games after GB Paralympics announced the rest of their track and field line-up for Rio de Janeiro.

The F41 discus thrower, from Chantmarle, has had a stellar year in preparation for the Games, which has also included finishing third in the IPC European Championships in Grosseto last month.

This will be her first taste of the global event as she hopes to improve on her third place in Italy.

The 27-year-old joins Dorchester middle-distance runner, Paul Blake, in the squad for Brazil after he cemented a place in the team in June.

Speaking about the team, Paula Dunn, British Athletics’ Paralympic Head Coach, said: “I’m so proud of all the athletes selected, and of the incredibly strong team of track and field athletes that we are taking to compete in Rio in just a few weeks’ time.

“There is some incredible talent here and the athletes have put everything into their training to ensure we are a world class team.

“We will be a force to be reckoned with once competition begins.”
