THE DOUG Read Knockout Cup has reached the semi-final stage.

Bere Regis will play the final at their home ground on Friday, July 7 after defeating Puddletown.

They will play either Abbotsbury or Charlton Down, who meet at Dorchester Rec tonight (6.30pm).

St George’s continued their unbeaten run in Division One against Dewlish, despite Mark Edgecombe’s unbeaten 56 for the away side.

For the Saints, Simon Proffitt’s four wickets for 10 and 34no was helped by an unbeaten 50 for Tim Goodhew for a comfortable win.

Dewlish did a lot better against Cattistock, scoring 141-4 due to Steven Tucker’s 60.

Three run-outs then meant Cattistock were restricted to just 100.

Cattistock themselves pulled off a win against Martinstown.

Sam Baker and Bradley Damen took three wickets each and then Bradley scored a vital 34 not out to gain the points in the last over.

Charlton Down were at their high-scoring best again in Division Two.

Sam Roles continued his excellent form with 65, but he was not top scorer, both Nick Voss with 93 and Matt Lovell’s 76 not out beating him in their side’s 313-4.

For Frampton, even John Hanford’s 77 was not enough as T Durston claimed 3-19 to seal the win.

Abbotsbury pulled off a very good win against Hazelbury Bryan. Jim Ryall with 85 and Simon Mitchem with 83 got them over the 200-mark and then Will McKay again excelled with the ball, his three wickets being matched by Simon Pengelly as the Swans won by 52 runs.

There was a very close game at Cattistock as their reserve side just overcame Cerne Valley with just one ball to spare.

An even closer game in Division Three saw Duncan MacBean’s 60 not out help Cosmos beat Casuals off the last ball.

Cosmos also won, if rather more easily, against ASM.

Alex Cullen was the only ASM batsman to reach double figures as Bill Trevett’s 3-6 restricted them to only 75.

Cosmos knocked these off for a six-wicket win.
