DORCHESTER Town assistant-manager Trevor Senior insists the Magpies are “full of confidence” as they look to break their Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division away hoodoo at Chesham United tomorrow (3pm).

With just one win in 16 league away games this season, Dorchester’s form on their travels provides a stark contrast to their home form, which has seen them register nine wins from 17 matches.

Speaking to Echosport about the situation, Senior revealed that improving away form was the Magpies’ “big aim” as the season ticks by.

He said: “We’re scratching our heads. We don’t prepare differently and we’re always there on time. The lads are prepared properly and we’ve got really good home form.

“(better away form) is our big aim between now and the end of the season.”

On the challenge of facing the Generals, Senior is full of respect for the league’s sixth-placed side who drew 1-1 at the Avenue Stadium in October after Kyle Egan’s injury-time leveller for 10-man Dorchester.

He said: “We’re going to a team that is in form. They’ve crept up the table. But the lads are full of confidence and hopefully we can get a positive result.

“When we played them at home earlier in the season it didn’t go to plan because Chris Weale got sent off and we were down to 10 men for 80 minutes.

“But fair play to the lads they ground it out and managed to get a point. That game gave us a lot of plusses.

“That was the beginning of our home form – the fact that we didn’t play well but dug in and managed to get a point.”

Senior also admitted that Dorchester were unlikely to play with a recognised striker up front as Phil Ormrod continues to battle a groin injury.

“Phil is still struggling with his injury, we’ll go with what we’ve got again.

“Tom Blair put a case for himself after a good performance. Ed Bastick should be fit and Luke Winsper was close to selection for (last Saturday).

“Jason Brookes has a slight thigh injury and he could be doubtful.”

The Magpies will wait on the availability of Dom Panesar-Dower after a recent illness.
