FOLLOWING a successful season, Dorchester’s first XV and A XV both travel away for their final Wadworth 6X Dorset & Wilts league games, to Bournemouth Thirds and rivals Puddletown respectively.
Having scored freely all season and lost only two league games, Dorchester could break the 100 point barrier in the league for the first time ever.
Dorchester will field two full strength sides and both teams will look to record wins to cap a fine season for the county town club ahead of the annual players’ dinner on Saturday evening.
The first team’s game against Bournemouth Thirds could be a potential banana skin and will prove very tough opponents in the first game of the season running Dorchester very close in a 27-26 victory for Dorchester, who will look to add what they were lacking in that game.
They will pose a threat but league leaders Dorchester know not to allow the opposition room to run and will want to prevent Bournemouth picking up any momentum.
County town captain Adam Makepeace is injured and Cameron Wills takes his place alongside Lee King in the second row and Steve Tucker concludes his fine season in his familiar number eight role and Joe Underhill remains parked in the front row.
Dorchester A take the short trip to Greenfields to face second placed Puddletown in the Wadworth 6X Dorset & Wilts Two South clash.
On Sunday Dorchester’s under-13’s face Corsham in the Dorset & Wilts cup looking to progress further and continue another fine season for the club’s youth section.
