BRIDPORT 1
BITTON 2
MARK Salter struck his 499th senior goal in his career but could not stop Bridport slipping to a 2-1 defeat at home to Bitton in the Toolstation Western Premier Division.
The away side had taken a 2-0 lead through Josh Egan but the Bees earned a penalty in the 69th minute, which Salter tucked in the rebound from.
Kameron Andrews almost put the home side ahead in the first minute with a great volley from 25 yards but his effort hit the crossbar.
Egan first put the Bees behind in the 18th minute with a great free-kick, and despite chances from Salter and Richard Hebditch, Bridport could not find a route back in.
Three minutes into the second half, Egan struck once more after getting through and slotting past Hutchings to leave Bridport with a hill to climb.
Salter gave them hope with his goal when a handball gave Bridport a penalty, Salter stepped up and saw his effort saved but he tucked in the rebound.
Salter had a great late opportunity to equaliser after good work from Andrews but the Bees could not find another goal.
