WEYMOUTH’S Mark Fry has spoken of the ‘huge’ booking as Ultimate Pro Wrestling is set to be on the bill at the Pavilion later this summer.

He is the co-owner of the company alongside Robert Mutch, and being from Weymouth himself he is delighted to see the shows coming to the venue.

Fry said: “We have been after the Pavilion since day one and we have finally now got it.”

“I was born and raised in Weymouth and to have the Pavilion there all of the time and now to actually get the venue itself is huge for us.”

The company is based in Littlemoor and has previously hosted events at the Riviera and at places across the south west including Taunton and Wincanton.

The company celebrated their third anniversary at the beginning of the year.

Fry said: “We had it at the Riviera and they had a 250 capacity and our last couple of shows completely sold out so at a prime location across six weeks of the summer so it is not just aiming at that local loyal fan base you have also got the holidaymakers and giving them something.

“Not just the adults the kids as well, it is a family friendly evening.

“Being Weymouth-based this is the one place we wanted, an iconic venue in Weymouth and it just so accessible.”

The rota of fighters will consist of six people that will appear at every show and Fry said: “You have got guys that have been having try-outs for the biggest promotions in the UK along with guys that have been doing TV work already.”

The fighters include Dick Riley and the Business who have both had try-outs with the WWE this year.

Jake McClusky works throughout the UK and Fry is pleased to have been able to book him with his hectic schedule, while Eddie Ryan has been working with Five Star Wrestling including work on TV for them.

The other six fighters that will change every show to get a variety so that fans that go to all three shows will not get the same experience.
