DORCHESTER Town Football Supporters’ Club have announced an operating deficit of £1,518.47 in the 2017/18 season.

That figure contrasts hugely with the operating surplus of £63.66 posted in the former term.

The deficit is largely down to an increase in expenditure of £1,401.58 in 2017/18 on last year’s, the majority of that rise coming in the shape of £726.40 towards DTFC Ltd and £639.80 in sundries.

Meanwhile, the club’s income fell by £180.55 thanks in part to a sharp fall of £543.66 in revenue generated by the Avenue Draw.

The financial news was made clear at the supporters’ club’s annual general meeting, where all officers and committee members were re-elected.

A total of 11 new committee members were also confirmed, those being T Berry, A Childs, H Ackerman, A Steele, E Steele, K Taylor, A Greenslade, J Greenslade, E Wilson, M Robinson and G Lucas.

Commenting on the past season in an open report, supporters’ club secretary Harold Gill praised fans for contributing towards the Magpies’ new 3G pitch.

He said: “It’s great to see the work that has been going on in the close season, the new 3G pitch which has recently been completed, and the amount of work involved to raise funds for financing it.

“My thanks are extended to all our committee for their help during the year. Everybody has done a marvellous job.

“To the supporters, firstly make sure that you are signed up as a member of the Supporters Club, secondly, that you keep those turnstiles clicking.”
