WEYMOUTH boss Jason Tindall is warning his players not to be fooled by the form of tomorrow's visitors to the Wessex Stadium (3pm).

Stafford Rangers have experienced a calamitous start to their Blue Square Premier campaign, claiming just one point from their first ten games but they did do the double over the Terras last season and Tindall is adamant they are currently in a false position.

Despite the fact they have not found the net for 309 minutes and have lost their last five games, Stafford are still not bottom of the table due to a better goal difference than Northwich Victoria.

The last time the two teams met Tindall scored from the spot for Weymouth in a 2-1 defeat at the Wessex Stadium on February 10.

He said: "Perhaps I will put myself on the bench just in case we get another penalty.

"No, I am only kidding. Scoring goals is not our problem, it is keeping the ball out at the other end that is my main concern at the moment. I firmly believe that if we tighten up at the back we will start winning a lot of games."

"Myself and Marcus Browning went and watched Stafford against Stevenage Borough recently and they are certainly not the worst team we have seen," added Tindall.

"They are in a false position for the team they have got and until they went down to ten men that day they were playing well against Stevenage.

"That is why it is so important that we stay professional tomorrow and continue to work as hard as we have been doing in recent games."

Weymouth went five games unbeaten before Tuesday night's 2-1 loss against Rushden & Diamonds and Tindall is hoping they can imme- diately get back on track.

He added: "We were very unlucky on Tuesday. Everyone who was at the game could see that we did not deserve to lose but that is football.

"If you don't take your chances and do not stay solid at the back then you tend to get punished and that is what happened.

"It was disappointing to lose our unbeaten run and the aim now has got to be to get on another one straight away.

"It is not going to be easy with tough away games at Torquay United and Histon coming up but all you have to do is look at the league table to see how two or three wins on the bounce can push you up seven or eight places."

Narada Bernard and Trevor Challis are expected to remain sidelined for the Terras and Sido Jombarti is a doubt.

But there is better news concerning midfielder Paolo Vernazza. He has returned to training this week and came through 60 minutes of a reserve-team game against Dorchester Town on Wednesday.

The Terras beat the Magpies 3-0 with goals from Gavin McCallum, Dani Rodrigues and trialist Shaun Baxter.

Weymouth Under-18s crashed out of the FA Youth Cup last night when they went down 4-0 to Moneyfields.
