DORCHESTER boss Shaun Brooks is delighted the Magpies clinched an FA Trophy date with his home-town club after squeezing past Worthing in a third qualifying round replay last night.

Brooks' boys only sealed their home date with holders Stevenage Borough after surviving a rally from their Ryman Premier League hosts.

Dani Rodrigues scored one and forced an own goal in the opening 16 minutes to put the Blue Square South side in charge.

But the Rebels reduced the arrears on the half-hour and it was only the heroics of goalkeeper Darren Behcet that kept them at bay.

Brooks said: "I am pleased we will be playing my home town club. It's a fantastic draw. Stevenage are well supported and we should get a good gate.

"Our keeper showed what he is capable of with two top-class saves.

"Dani was great. He has only been with us for three weeks but is getting fitter with every game."

Dorchester had got out of jail on Saturday when Rodrigues forced this replay with an equaliser in the sixth-minute of stoppage time.

And they began their second attempt at getting through to the first round proper where they left off.

Rodrigues turned in a low right-wing cross from Ivan Forbes at the near post after three minutes.

The former Southampton striker helped double the visitors' advantage when his cross was diverted into his own net by Worthing defender Andy Lutwyche.

Hardy Pinto-Moreira looked comfortable on the ball early on for Dorchester.

The striker combined well with the industrious Wes Fogden, on loan from Brighton, in midfield and it appeared the pair were going to guide Dorchester to a comfortable victory.

But the Rebels were in no mood for surrender and Behcet was beaten by a towering header from home skipper Ben Andrews following a Mark Pulling free-kick.

It was game on and Town were pinned back for most of the second half by a hard-working Rebels side who struggled to create chances before mustering a flurry of opportunities in the final quarter.

Behcet did brilliantly to keep out a 73rd-minute header by Andrews following a Roy Pook cross.

Six minutes later, the keeper, on loan from Yeovil, stopped another thumping Andrews' header from the same source.

And there were two scrambles off the line as Dorchester hung on.

Brooks added: "We made a fantastic start but then it was a question of digging in and we did. In fact, we competed well all night.

"I'm pleased with the performance because it is a tough place to come. It was a fair result. Although they had pressure, we could have put it to bed on the break a couple of times in the second half."
