PORTLAND United manager Dave Kiteley is preparing for what he describes as a "massive month" for the Blues, starting with tomorrow's Dorset Premier League trip to Poole Borough (2.15pm).

The islanders will be looking to maintain their stranglehold at the top of the table while third-place Borough will be determined to reduce the five-point deficit with a win at Turlin Moor.

The Blues' unbeaten run was extended to 16 games in all competitions after a stunning comeback in their Dorset Senior Cup quarter-final tie at Swanage Town & Herston on Tuesday night.

Kiteley said: "All we can do is to keep the momentum going and do the same things in training to keep everyone at the top of their game.

"December is a massive month for us where every game is important because we want to continue fighting on all three fronts - the league, League Cup and Senior Cup."

The two sides have come face to face twice already this campaign with Kiteley's men winning both the league fixture and the League Cup clash, 2-0 and 3-0 respectively.

But the United boss is wary of a wounded Poole outfit. He added: "From what I gathered they weren't happy losing at our place in the league so I'm sure they will want to put the record straight on Saturday, therefore it will be a difficult game for us, particularly on a big and intimidating pitch."

Kiteley hopes to have mid- fielder Ross Doidge fit after missing Tuesday's game with a groin injury, one player definitely out though is defender Ryan Percy, who has taken up a new job in London.

Kiteley said: "We will have to wait on Ross' fitness but it is disappointing to lose Ryan because he has been part of a strong defensive unit here. Lloyd Cranny is out with an ankle injury so Callum Ross-Jennins will fill in at right-back."
