JONATHON Cooper delivered a home win for Edgon Heath Harriers in the Weymouth Bay 10k.

Cooper took overall victory for the Dorset-based running club in a time of 34:53, beating Daniel Cahill into second by 19 seconds with Charlie Williams in third five seconds further back.

More than 350 runners enjoyed perfect running conditions, facilitating a new women’s course record from 17-year-old Daisy Baker, who finished seventh overall.

Baker, representing Millfield School and Salisbury, completed the course in a stunning time of 38:16, chopping two minutes and 15 seconds off the previous mark set by Lymington’s Sophie Bubb.

Gillingham’s Kevin Bryant and Royal Manor Portland athlete Liz Lewis claimed the men’s and women’s veterans’ prizes, the latter returning a time of 49:14.

In the team category, the white and green vests of Westbourne emerged victorious.
