WEYMOUTH 3
COVENTRY & WARWICK RIGA 0
WEYMOUTH Volleyball Club extended to six games their unbeaten run in National League Division One with a convincing 3-0 win over Coventry and Warwick Riga at Redlands.
Weymouth got off to a flying start in the first set taking a 6-1 lead with Coventry seemingly unable to stop Weymouth’s outside hitters Toddy Toplov, Harry Jones and Mike Wahl.
Weymouth kept up the pace throughout the set and it was noticeable that Weymouth had cut out the serving errors which was such a feature of last week’s match.
Weymouth continued piling on the pressure throughout the set and were able to win 25-11.

Coventry began the second set in a more determined mode and Weymouth found themselves behind at 15-14 but from then on Weymouth completely dominated taking 10 of the next 13 points to win the set 25-17.
For the third set, Weymouth were able to make changes to the starting line-up and James Bibby and Jamie Keates came on to make their National League debuts.
However, Weymouth continued to dominate with strong defence led by man-of-the-match Elliott Sawyer and powerful attacking play by Seb Smith and Sam Groom.
This dominance resulted in Weymouth taking the set 25-20 to close out the match.
Weymouth now lie second in the table below Essex Blaze on set difference and one point ahead of Black Country who are their next opponents when they travel to the Midlands in two weeks.
