WARMER HOME IMPROVEMENTS A 19

BELLE CONSTRUCTION 34

CHAMPIONS elect Belle Construction remain on course for a flawless South & West Dorset League Premier Division season with a 34-19 win over Warmer Home Improvements A.

In a dramatic game to watch there was a strong start from both teams despite the windy weather and drizzling rain.

Phenomenal interceptions from Warmer GK Yolander Mortimer resulted in some good turnovers and interrupted Belle’s flow.

But Belle’s GA Jane Guppy made some great accurate shots from around the circle securing them a lead. Warmer’s passion and determination saw them fighting strong with C Becky Hallet playing some lovely balls up the court.

Warmer’s GA Sarah Garman, who is usually a WA, stepped into the role and used her skill to help move the ball round the D into GS Stacey Moller who managed to bag some goals.

Belle were leading 14-11 at half-time but extended their lead in the second half with GD Louise Bugler reading the game with accuracy and precision making valiant interceptions and turning the ball back over into their shooters.

Warmer’s spirit remained high throughout with only six players in the final quarter and some accurate shots by Garman but Belle’s tight formation and experience helped secure them the win.

BUGLERS 13

THE VETERANS’ HUB 33

BEHIND Belle, The Veterans’ Hub have cemented second spot following their 33-13 win over Buglers.

During a close first quarter with both teams playing evenly at the start, at times Buglers struggled to keep the ball mid-court and this enabled Veterans to take a small early lead.

Veterans showed great control throughout the court with some strong defence and excellent mid-court play.

Veterans’ fresh legs and sideline support helped them extend their lead in the second quarter, applying good pressure and making some accurate shots working well around the shooting D.

Veterans maintained control and majority possession throughout the remainder of the game with strong play in each third of the court.

Despite the heavy rain, both teams played well and spirits were high as Vets secured second place with one match remaining.

ARTIFEX SIRENS 12

ZEST 34

ZEST look set to emulate Belle with a flawless campaign, beating Artifex Sirens 34-12 in their top-of-the-table clash in Division Two.

The weather resulted in a turbulent start for both teams, however Zest had the edge.

Beautiful play by Sirens with a great feed from C Jess Rockett under the post to GS Alison Holmes saw them secure some great goals.
