STRIKER Will Fletcher can “get better” and is “nowhere near the finished article", according to Dorchester Town manager Tom Killick.

Fletcher joined the Magpies in November and has gone on to net seven goals in 15 appearances, the latest coming from the spot in the astonishing 4-4 draw at Totton.

And Killick told Echosport of his conviction in the ex-Poole and Hamworthy United forward’s potential.

“He’s a brilliant lad as well, which is one of the reasons I wanted him,” he admitted.

“I knew he’s very good now and he’s getting better all the time. I know he’s a brilliant personality and character.

“The way he conducts himself in terms of not being in the starting XI mirrored what Shaq (Gwengwe) did when Shaq was out of the team.

“I’m just so pleased when he comes on and has the impact that he has, it’s well deserved.

“I was surprised I was allowed to sign him because I know the potential he’s got. He’s nowhere near the finished article yet. He can get better.

“I’m big on having people around me that I can really vouch for in terms of their character and he’s in that category.”
