DORCHESTER Town’s trip to Tiverton Town in the Southern League Premier South this evening has been postponed.
That is due to concerns over the pitch at the Ian Moorcroft Stadium, which failed an inspection at 1.45pm this afternoon.
A statement from the Yellows read: “Unfortunately today’s match has been called off.
“Despite the fact the pitch is in much better shape, the match officials believe it would not last a full 90 minutes.”
Tivvy vice chairman Matthew Conridge added: “Hard to sum up in words how frustrating it is to lose another home game.
“But the weather over the last couple of months has been unprecedented.
“Apologies to our supporters and the supporters, officials and players at Dorchester Town.”
Tom Killick’s Magpies, who sit 14th in the division, return to action on Saturday, hosting Salisbury (3pm).
