WEYMOUTH'S Nick Dempsey continued his close rivalry with Israel's Olympic bronze medallist Shahar Zubari in the RS:X 9.5 windsurfing class at the Skandia Sail For Gold Regatta.

Dempsey exchanged first and second place results in both races yesterday and remains in second behind Zubari, at the event, held at the Weymouth and Portland Sailing Academy.

Dempsey who finished one place behind Zubari in Qingdao at the Olympics said: "The racing was really close out their and tough, it's hard to feel disappointed after winning one race and coming second in the other.

"However Sahar is racing really well and he managed to get the same results, I think it's going to be tight right up to the end."

Bryony Shaw, also from Weymouth, remains in third in the RS:X 8.5 class after taking third and fourth-place finishes yesterday.

Overnight leader Blanca Manchon kept her lead despite getting off to a bad start with an over the course start in the first race.

She hit top form however, in the next race, with a second place and now leads by two points.
