WEYMOUTH take on local rivals Puddletown tomorrow at Monmouth Avenue (3pm) with both sides entering the match on a high.

The Seasiders won 36-24 at Frome II last Saturday while the Villagers recorded a 15-5 success over Wimborne on the opening day of the Dorset & Wilts One South season.

And Weymouth are set to strengthen their squad this weekend.

Head coach Barry Ross-Mackenzie said: "We've got a strong side out for tomorrow's game, even stronger than the one we had last week.

"It's a local derby so our lads have got to be up for it. We won quite well at Frome but not well enough, and we'll be looking to make amends for the tries we conceded."

Also in Dorset & Wilts One South tomorrow, Dorchester visit North Dorset Seconds (3pm).

The county town side are in a confident mood as well having seen off Bridport, who are without a game tomorrow, by 12 points in last weekend's derby encounter.

Stand-in head coach Mike Sprules was pleased with the display but knows they will have to up their level.

He said: "We were quite pleased with certain aspects of the game but we went to sleep a bit in the second half so we need to keep our concentration up.

"We do need to improve though, but that's to be expected after just one game. We're expecting a tough game at North Dorset because they're big and strong in the forwards, so we'll look to move the ball as much as possible."

Sprules will make just one change from Saturday's 18-6 win with Jack Elliott replacing the unavailable Joe Gower, who is struggling with a shoulder knock.

Like their respective first teams, Puddletown Seconds and Weymouth Seconds go head-to-head tomorrow (3pm).

This derby clash though, takes place at Greenfields and will be Puddletown's first match of season.

The Seasiders meanwhile, will be hoping to bounce back from a 20-12 defeat at home to Ellingham & Ringwood Seconds.

Swanage & Wareham will be looking to continue their opening day success when they visit Salisbury tomorrow in South West Two East (3pm).

The Swans beat Reading Abbey 18-10 last weekend while tomorrow's opponents suffered a 15-12 defeat at Olney.

Elsewhere, Dorchester Seconds host Oakmeadians Seconds in Dorset & Wilts Two South tomorrow (3pm).
