Newly-promoted FC WindowMan got their Dorset League Divison Two season underway as they welcomed a useful Piddlehinton side to the Marsh and, after what boss Alan Heseltine described as a "sketchy first half", they ran out worthy 4-3 winners.

A bright opening period for the hosts saw them go close on three occasions as first Sam Purnell played in Phil Lee but the winger side-footed wide.

Paul Cole then flashed a dangerous ball across the six-yard box but nobody could get a vital touch.

The same player was then adjudged to be offside as he got a slight touch on a Purnell's 15-yarder that ended in the bottom corner of the net.

However, the hosts were lucky in the 27th minute as Jason Bushnell's volley had to pushed away by Anthony Luque but then their luck ran out as seconds later Bushnell, ripping through down the left side, was clipped by Tom Davidson on the left corner of the box and up stepped Nick Hansford to curl a delightful free-kick into the top right-hand corner.

Five minutes later Marc Dalley's low effort was well blocked by Piddle stopper Mike Bennett but Dalley finally got WindowMan level five minutes before the switch when he stroked home from ten yards when played in by Lee.

In the next attack the home side added a second when a little fortune favoured Dave Hartley who bobbled a shot into the net after Lee's original effort had been well blocked by Bennett.

However, this see-sawing first period ended with Piddle grabbing a deserved equaliser. Ben Jeanes slipped in the menacing Bushnell who was able to sneak his shot inside Luque's near post.

WindowMan settled better in the second period and they restricted the villagers to scarcely a half-chance until, that is, the 90th minute when Bushnell headed home a pinpoint free-kick from Hansford.

However, that was a mere consolation as two quickfire goals in the 53rd and 59th settled this clash in the home side's favour.

First Lee confidently rolled in a penalty awarded when Jeanes appeared to elbow the ball off the head of Dalley, before Hartley sent Cole racing down the right and his tantalising pull back was powered into the roof of the net by Purnell.
