DORSET & Wilts One South leaders Dorchester have received a major boost ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Swanage & Wareham II (2.30pm).

Former Worcester Warriors lock forward Tim Collier, who currently plays for National League Division Two side the Cornish All Blacks, has joined the county town coaching staff.

And Dorchester will be hoping his arrival can maintain their unbeaten record.

The Swans meanwhile have been in erratic form so far this season, but Dorchester head coach Mike Sprules, whose team are unbeaten in the league, expects to come up against a strong side tomorrow.

He said: “You never go down there and have an easy game, I’ve heard mixed reports about them this season but I’m sure they’ll raise a good side for a home game.”

The county town side have no injury worries after last weekend’s break and Sprules is satisfied with the strength of his squad. He added: “We’ve got a solid squad here now, selection for the team is competitive and we’re the club that people want to beat in this league.”

Weymouth are also on the road tomorrow (2.30pm) and skipper Tony Worle is hoping to maintain his unbeaten record against Warminster when the two promotion rivals meet.

Both sides are level on 12 points in Dorset & Wilts One South and the Seasiders will hope to pull away from their rivals with a win in Wiltshire.

Worle said: “This is obviously a very big and important game for us to win, we’re level on points and only separated by points difference.”

The captain also insists his team is confident in spite of last week’s forfeit to Minety in the Dorset & Wilts Vase and defeat at Dorchester the week before. He added: “Warminster are always strong when you travel there, they’ll play big and robust in the forwards, but in my three years as captain we haven’t lost to them so we’re going into it confident.”

Weymouth have a number of first choice players missing through injury and other commitments, including long term absentees James Ford (shoulder) and Steve Calbraith (shoulder) but Mark Sample (knee) returns. A selection of younger legs will fill the gaps including Colts graduate Tom Smethurst.

Bridport visit Westbury in Dorset & Wilts One South tomorrow (2.30pm) looking to keep their push for promotion alive.

The Blues are on a run of six games without defeat and will need to maintain this form to stay in the race.

Coach Paul Ninnim said: “This time of year is normally a bad one for us but hopefully we can do better this year than we normally do.”

Elsewhere, Swanage & Wareham host mid-table rivals Trowbridge tomorrow (2.30pm).

The two sides are level on eight points in South West Two East along with three other teams so the winner could make up valuable ground in the table.

The Swans lost narrowly away to third-placed Cheltenham last time out.
