EASTON boss Chris Wilson is hoping the experience of Terry Oldrid and Brendan Kelly will help put an end to his side’s recent slump in the Dorset Senior League. The duo will return to action tomorrow for the trip to third-placed Okeford United, who currently sit one point above the Portlanders having played one game more.

Easton have lost their last four in all competitions with their latest defeat coming in the form of an alarming 5-2 reverse at struggling Tintinhull.

In comparison Okeford are unbeaten in four, winning two and drawing two. One of those victories came in their last home league encounter when they defeated second-placed Weymouth Sports 1-0 so Wilson is well aware of the task that lies ahead.

He said: “It’s another tough one because they are a good side. The lads are fully aware of the challenge Okeford will provide us and hopefully that will spur them on to go there and do a job.

“Not only are they well organised but they also play their pitch well and are quick on the break but as I have said many times before, we have just got to concentrate on our own game.

“We are a bit short of confidence and at the moment we will take any result no matter how it comes and I am pleased to say we have a couple of players returning.

“Rob Maxted has trained this week but he is still doubtful and I will have to make a late decision on him but Terry Oldrid is available again and so is Brendan Kelly, so things are looking up in that regard.”

Aaron Williams and Ben Simmonds were sent off in the 2-1 home defeat against Parley Sports on November 15 but they will not have to serve bans until the New Year.

Wilson added: “Their suspensions will not come into force until after Christmas and I am still looking to bring in a couple of players. We have plenty of attacking options but we need to strengthen at the back.”

* KANGAROOS face a tough trip to FC Polonia tomorrow. The Dorchester outfit fell to a single-goal defeat against league leaders Parley Sports last Saturday and have not tasted victory since the opening day of the season.

* WEYMOUTH Sports visit Wareham Rangers tomorrow in the Dorset Senior League aiming to put pressure on leaders Parley.

Second-placed Sports lie nine points adrift of the table-toppers but do hold three games in hand.
