WEYMOUTH St Paul’s Harriers celebrated senior and junior success with coach Pete Clark and Under-15 athletes Benedict Westhenry and Tom Austin all bringing home trophies.

Clark travelled to Helsinki, Finland to take part in the Open Tetrade-cathlon in which athletes compete in 14 events over the course of just one day, starting at 9am and finishing at 9.30pm.

Harrier Clark, who is the world record holder for the Over-60 One Day Icosathlon (20 events in one day), won the first place trophy in the Over-65 age group.

The triumph could be his last for the Harriers as after coaching Dorset youngsters for more than 40 years, Clark will be taking a step back from his lead coaching duties at Weymouth St Paul’s Harriers.

Westhenry, who been coached by Clark since the age of nine, helped England on its way to victory in the Home Counties International in Bangor, North Wales.

Westhenry, although disappointed not to make the top-five, gained an 11th place finish in the individual standings as the England Schools Cross-Country Squad captured team gold.

The teenager also tasted success at the Wessex Cross-Country League event, winning the Under-15 first-place trophy.

Team-mate Tom Austin made it a WSPH one-two by taking second place in his debut season.
