DORSET take on Wiltshire at Dean Park tomorrow in their first pre-season friendly (11am) looking to improve on the poor one-day form that blighted their 2008 campaign.

Sean Walbridge’s men have been working hard on their limited-overs form throughout the close season and the determined boss is expecting to see instant results.

He said: “Everyone is looking forward to getting back playing and hopefully we can get off to an encouraging start.

“From a Minor Counties Championship point of view we got better as we went on last year but our one day form was poor and we want to put that right.

“We have been working on that all through the winter and hopefully things will pick up in that respect, starting with the game against Wiltshire tomorrow.”

Walbridge has included Dorchester pair Paul Tweddle and Dan Belt in his line-up but he has also been quick to warn every member of his squad that they will soon lose their place should they not perform.

He added: “You only have to look at the people who are not in the side to see the competition for places we have this year and hopefully that will inspire people to do well.

“Roger Sillence is a new face in the squad this season and we are hoping to confirm his signing after the game. I am sure he will prove to be a great addition.”
