WEYMOUTH’S Samuel Trott won the rookie eight-and-under section at the National Golf Skills Challenge Regional Final.
Twenty junior players from the South West, which included five Weymouth Tigers, battled it out at the Kendleshire Golf Club and Trott was not the only Dorset entrant to enjoy success.
George Carroll also claimed glory for Weymouth when he finished second in the rookie nine-to-11 years section.
The final took place on the challenging and magnificent short game area and range at the Bristol course, where blustery conditions tested the golfers’ determination and skill.
But both Trott and Carroll held their nerve to triumph.
